Edwin A. Lloyd, P.E. (Ed) is well known for not only being an engaging speaker, but a dynamic, energetic presenter and storyteller. His presentations leave a long-lasting impression on every heart, proven by audiences raving about his professional and engaging personality even years later.  Ed has been speaking professionally since 1997 and his passion for speaking continues to grow with each event.  His motto remains simple, yet effective: “Find the True You, and then give it away.”

Ed’s speaking topics include: Dreaming Big, Goal Setting, Defining Yourself, Why an Engineering License, Career Placement, Interviewing Do’s and Don’ts, Motivational and Leadership training.

Ed has spoken to groups as intimate as ten (10) to larger than two hundred (200).  Audiences include: Kellogg Brown and Root, Toastmasters International, National Society of Black Engineers, Hewitt and Associates, The Houston Sun, as well as to various Universities, such as Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern University, Texas Tech University, University of Texas in Austin, Texas A&M University, and Southern University of Louisiana, Charter schools: KIPP Academy, Dominion Academy; various elementary, middle and high schools in HISD.  

Ed graduated from Prairie View A&M University, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1996. As a licensed professional engineer, Ed completed a very successful engineering and project management career for KBR for over 11 years. In 2008, Ed joined MDA Engineers, LLC, a small engineering and construction management firm, as Vice President.  In 2010, Ed assumed the title as President of MDA Engineers, LLC and continues to operate in this role today.  MDA Engineers provides construction management and inspection services to governmental municipal entities such as the City of Houston and METRO, as well as various private consulting companies throughout Houston.

Ed’s accomplishments include – Leadership Houston Class XXVII, Strathmore Home Owners Association Board Member, Toastmaster District Winner, Port of Houston University Graduate, Jet Magazine – December 2001 and MWH Speakers Bureau.

Ed prides himself on being a role model, mentor, motivator, and a faithful child of God. Ed has spoken on a number of topics including, informative – “Why a PE License?;” “Five Steps to Setting Goals;” “The True You;” “The Day the World Stood Still;” Humorous – “Daddy’s Day Care” and many more.
